Historic Use: The house was originally built in 1900 by DeWitt Clinton Van Ostrand as a wedding gift for his daughter, Laura, after her marriage to Lyall Pinkerton. During their time in the house, Lyall worked at the J.L. Fieweger Company, the Menasha Woolen Mills, before working his way to becoming manager and treasurer of the Jersild Knitting Company. During their last thirteen years at the house, Pinkerton also served as the director of the National Manufacturers Bank before moving in 1934. Laura was a co-founder of the Emergency Society of Neenah and Menasha, as well as the treasurer of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

This home has been altered over the years, but it still takes on the looks of an old style colonial revival home. This house is still lived into to this day and plays the role of being a historical home within the city of Neenah, which was established in 1835.
